Some former students of DELSU are standing trial for beating and robbing a lecturer….

Three former students of theDelta State University (DELSU),Abraka have been arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Abraka on a three count charge of felony, stealing and assault on oneMr. Ifeanyi Ogu-Raphael.
The accused,Oghenetega Odiete, Aforke Avwerosuo, Oghenede Ufuomaand others at large attackedOgu-Raphael,a lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department of the university, on June 3, 2013.
According to aVanguardreport, the ex-students “committed felony to wit: assault occasioning harm, unlawfully beat up and stoleN69, 000,four mobile handsets and an ATM card all belonging toMr. Ogu-Raphael.”
The offences are punishable under Sections 516, 355 and 390 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol.1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.
Presiding Magistrate,Mrs. O. M. Omonemu, adjourned the case to September 17, 2014.
