What should you do if your child is being bullied at school?
Hello Kayode,
I have a 5 year old little boy who is being bullied at school. My child is so scared of going to school these days because there is this particular bigger boy in another class that keeps hitting him, won't let him play with other children, pushes him over, calls him names whenever he comes out of his class for break. My son tells him to stop, but that just pushes the bigger boy on. I have spoken to the school about it 3 times now, called his class teacher. Unfortunately, she can't be there to intervene every moment of the day. I would really appreciate some advice on where to go from here.
My baby cried in the car this morning, totally refused to go to school and this really broke my heart, got me so upset. I have even stayed at his school in the morning to see if that kid does anything but he doesn't until I leave. I want something done, this bullying has got to stop. I just want to know - what can I do for my child to feel safe at school?
Hmm, this is so sad. If you have ever dealt with this situation, please come in here and tell your story. As a mum, when you hear your child is being bullied at school, first thing you want to do is rush in and mercilessly deal with the culprit. But is that the best response?
