5 Reasons Why Ladies DON’T Feel Like Having Sex

1. Not catching enough Z’s.

If you’re tired, the only thing you want to do between the sheets—or let’s face it, on the couch—is snooze. But logging fewer than six hours of sleep each night has been shown to lower testosterone levels in both men and women, and that’s the hormone that makes you want to get it on. Snooze now, so you can sex later.

2. Your addiction to social media.

Each time you glance at the small screen rather than your Significant Other, you’re putting digital—and real—distance between you two. Social media is just a distraction from the man most likely ready-and-willing to touch things other than your screen.

3. Never taking a break or vacation.

We all go through sex drive ruts, and one of the ways we get out of them is taking ourselves out of our regular environments—where dishes piled in the sink or even nosy neighbours—steal away our sexy time. Plus, time away reduces your stress, another thing that snuffs out your desire to have sex. When couples make an effort to get away, even for just a night, they are more likely than those who never unwind to get it on when they get back home.

4. Wearing too many clothes to bed.

Now’s the time of year we pile on thick sweats and socks before ducking under our down comforters. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, those kinds of clothes—and all the skin they hide—won’t inspire any kind of spontaneous sex. Consider sleeping naked together just once a week. When you snuggle up together to keep warm, or slide even closer as you spoon, his and your hands will brush bare flesh and inspire your sex drive to go into overdrive.

5. Overindulging Olivia-Pope wine style.

If you regularly enjoy happy hour with friends, there’s a chance you could be drowning your sex drive along with your work stress. One or two drinks will rev your engine, sure—but more than that will act as a sedative, so that all you want to do when you get home is sleep. So, pass on that second or third cocktail and head home to de-stress with your S.O. instead.
